Finalize which one you will be moving into with the retirement community and set a date for the move-in.
Meet with Trudy, your Realtor, to discuss preparing for putting your current home on the market (i.e. improvements/repairs needed, pricing the home, net proceeds, marketing, date of listing, recommend transition specialists, etc.)
Contact senior transitions specialists to help with downsizing and preparing your home for the move. You will need to provide a floorplan to them so they can advise accordingly. They can also advise on having an estate sale if you qualify.
The transition specialists will go over which pieces of furniture will go with the move and then help you decide what other items (ex. decor, clothing, knickknacks, etc.) will go as well. Items going to family, donations, estate sale (if you choose to have one), and the move will all be determined.
Have the family pick up their items and schedule your estate sale with the transition specialist (it will be a date after you have moved).
Professional packers arrive and pack the home accordingly for 1 to 2 days.
The movers remove your items from your home and deliver to the new retirement community. They will unload and can even unpack and place your items out for you (i.e. hang pictures, put items drawers and cabinets, hang clothing, etc.).
Estate sale is held for 2-3 days by transition specialists.
Your home is professionally cleaned and the necessary repairs and improvements have been done (as your Realtor, I can recommend reputable companies for you and help coordinate that process).
I will discuss options of staging your home and will go over the Powerhouse marketing Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper, REALTORS offers and pricing of the home once more.
I will have professional photography done along with brochures, scheduling TV show, magazine submission, just listed cards, internet advertising and more!
Your house is placed on the market and sold for top dollar!
